the beautiful worn down mother
I have three sons. Three intense, strong-willed, seemingly wild boys. I spend most of my life feeling worn down and weary. Here's a reminder that this is what God has called us to. We're not only raising children to become adults, we are becoming the women He created us to be. My boys aren't the only ones in process! Praise God I'm not finished yet!

songs that always move
So, I guess I'm on a song kick lately. Not really surprising, music is the thing that always moves my soul. Here's one that I always come back to. Simple enough to sing throughout the day!

How He Loves - David Crowder
I watch this video daily. It has excerpts of sermons by Matt Chandler and John Piper. Two pastors I greatly respect and enjoy listening to. Over the past 4 years I have been learning how desperately I need to hear the Gospel over and over again. This video helps.
what it's all about
I am a blog failure. I have started several blogs and simply run out of things to say, which is very surprising to those who know me. I have tried several times to make a commitment to write every day but I really don't have a significant something to say that often. It doesn't seem right to blog about how much laundry I did, how many sibling fights I dealt with and why I wish gas wasn't so expensive.
So why am I trying it again?
Because I believe in the power of words to change our lives.
God created the world with words.
He communicates with us through words.
He saved us through The Word.
Psalm 119: 103 says, "How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!" I long for sweetness in my very daily, very normal life. I find that sweetness in His words.
But to be totally honest, I feel dry, I struggle to understand His word and to put flesh on it, I don't always walk away with great insight. As I'm making my way through my thirties I'm beginning to realize that I don't know everything! Amazing! Thus I am so thankful for being placed in a family, in a Body, that God can use to speak truth and sweetness to me.
The beauty of the internet is that we can find this everyday in various places. I am constantly e-mailing people great articles I've found, good songs, encouraging blogposts, etc. But then when I want to read them again I can't find them! My bookmarks are a disaster. Now I can put it all on this blog and come back to things I need to hear again and again. Feel free to explore and find some sweetness for your day too!
(If you do want to hear snippets of my "very daily, very normal" life, I will be trying to write more consistently on my other blog: www.sweet-honey-life.blogspot.com)
